Barcelona, 17th March 2015. Ecommerce has become a great stake for a large number of private investors. This is what this Catalan company, founded by Francesc Sanz Puigdemont, has proven. LaComunity.com the leading national portal-club has closed a round of funding and has received 500,000 euros from new investors: Three Family Offices that form part of the investment groups Reus Tarragona Business Angels, investors of the Esadeban group and Soifler, a major tourism group in Tarragona. The funding round strategies were developed by Daniel Clivillé a partner of the consultants Ineo Corporate.
Francesc Sanz, founder and CEO of LaComunity has stated “this funding has brought together professional investors who will be able to continue investing the company in the future”. According to Sanz“This is fantastic news for the company” which is living a great moment
The portal that marks the difference
The company has created in holiday rentals a different model to peer to peer rentals, promoting and ensuring quality, seasonal rentals through professionals and property managers in the sector. LaComunity is the only innovating portal that is changing holiday rentals in south Europe and that works with professionals whose apartments are of high standards and quality as they all have tourist licences and all legal permits. Another great advantage unique to this portal is the immediate booking system. It is no longer necessary to wait for confirmation from the owner. Confirmation is instant thanks to the technological system. “This is a totally different model comparing to Airbnb peer to peer network”, Francesc Sanz has stated.
Over the past months LaComunity has closed important strategic deals with national and international channel managers to continue with its worldwide expansion. It has also reached agreements with local leading companies within the sector as the main player in the Cerdanya and to have the sole commercial rights. In addition it has also reached agreements with real estate professionals dealing in holiday rentals in Barcelona. This has meant a total of more than 1,000 homes with a tourist licence in the capital of Catalonia.
Forecast for 2015 and new markets
At the end of 2014 LaComunity had increased its billing by 250% in one year. The company is growing steadily and has 25,000 properties all over the world and in all markets.
The aim is to put the portal on one of the three main webs for holiday rentals in the next few months in south Europe, quintuple revenue, increase the number of visits to the web to 600,000 visits a month, reach 125,000 homes around the world and increase staffing by creating at least 10 new positions.
One of the challenges for LaComunity is to continue to increase its presence in the world, as well as to lead the Spanish market and grow in new markets such as France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Latin America.
